New Illini Welcome Reception at BlackFinn Ameripub

The D.C. Illini will be hosting a welcome reception at Blackfinn Ameripub with light appetizers for alumni to network with other alumni new to the area, recent graduates, and University of Illinois students interning in the Washington, D.C. area for the Fall 2016 semester. During the reception local alumni will engage in rotating small-group discussions with the recent graduates and interns concerning experiences living in the area, starting a career, D.C. Illini events throughout the year, and other topics.

Event Location and Timing
Who: U of I alumni and interns (UIUC, UIC, and UIS campuses) in the Washington, D.C. area.
When: Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Where: BlackFinn Ameripub, 1620 I Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20006. BlackFinn is conveniently located just a short walking distance from the Farragut West Metro station (Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines). There is also a paid parking garage directly across the street.

Gift Card Raffle: We will be raffling off two BlackFinn gift cards during the reception.
LAS Career Trek: Melissa Schoeplein with the University's School of Liberal Arts and Sciences will be on hand to discuss a "Career Trek" she will be leading with students during the 2017 Spring Break (March 18 - 26). If you are interested in assisting this program and/or hosting students at your workplace, you can contact Melissa at mschoepl@illinois.edu.
Getting More Involved with the Club: Speak with Eric Hutchins or any other D.C. Illini Board Member about becoming more involved with the Club. More information on opportunities to become involved is available here.
